The headline stat
I gave up first blood. We still took every building on the map.
Razor killed me at 6:13 for the game’s first blood. Tusk finished 1/7/23. Radiant finished with nothing — not one tower, not one rax, not the fort. All eighteen of their structures fell.
This wasn’t close after the first fifteen minutes. narkotik’s Chaos Knight and MADAMFISO’s Snapfire did most of the actual demolition; I spent the game on twenty-three assists and one personal rax, which is its own kind of contribution to a total wipe.
6:13–46:01
No real nemesis, just seven different ways to die
Razor opened the scoring on me at 6:13 for first blood, and nobody managed it twice in a row after that: Phoenix (14:32), Luna twice (19:51, 33:48), Lion twice (29:54, 32:39), and Phantom Assassin in the mop-up phase at 46:01, after the fort was already three minutes from falling. My one kill was Phoenix, caught at 17:12 with Amakiro and MADAMFISO closing it out. My other contribution to the scoreline was structural, not personal — I took the top melee rax myself at 45:26, in the middle of the biggest push of the game.
the shape of the win
narkotik’s Chaos Knight (24/7/12) took Roshan alone at 40:22 and personally destroyed four separate structures, absorbing 217,842 damage along the way — his Phantasm illusions soaking hits meant for the real hero the entire game, same as any illusion’s damage taken counts under this blog’s policy. MADAMFISO’s Snapfire (16/2/16) closed the game personally, taking the fort itself at 49:41 after already taking towers in both mid and bottom lane earlier. Between the two of them and unfair’s Nature’s Prophet (13/7/22), Radiant never had an answer for the push.
15:57–49:41
All eighteen, and Radiant only ever got two back
Radiant lost their mid tier-one at 15:57 and it never really stopped from there: all three tier-twos by 30:39, the mid and bottom tier-threes with both sets of racks by 44:35, the top tier-three and its racks by 45:30, both tier-fours at 45:28–45:31, and the fort itself at 49:41. Radiant’s entire structural output for the match was two tier-ones — one at 28:07, and a consolation kill on the mid tower at 46:54, three minutes after their own tier-fours were already gone. Dire never lost a rax, a tier-three, a tier-four, or the fort.
Giving up first blood usually sets the tone for a bad night. This time it was the only thing Radiant got right all game.
