The headline stat

16 deaths, level 18, and a win anyway

Every personal number this game is the worst on the scoreboard. The team won by 51 minutes regardless.

Lowest level in the match. Lowest last hits by a wide margin. Lowest teamfight participation on either team. Pudge finished 3/16/18, took more deaths than anyone else on the server, and none of it mattered, because Hinata.exe’s Anti-Mage was quietly dismantling the other team’s base the entire time this line was accumulating.

opex’s Necrophos, over and over

Eight of my sixteen deaths were Necrophos’s directly, and he had a hand in three more as an assist — eleven of sixteen — not far off the concentration in Six of Eight. Reaper’s Scythe doesn’t care how far away the hook missed. I got a little back on the other side of the map early: Lion died to me twice inside the first thirteen minutes (9:04, 12:52), and Wraith King went down to me at 50:31, seconds before his own fort did.

the real story of the win

Hinata.exe’s Anti-Mage claimed first blood at 5:49, finished 13/6/9 with 211 last hits, and personally took credit for both bottom-lane rax, a tier-three tower, and tier-four twice. BobTheDestro’s Sniper matched him with 15/6/21 and the match’s second-highest tower damage, taking both top-lane rax and a tier-three tower of his own. Add Artur Ortis’s Hoodwink (18/7/25, most kills on either team) and Radiant lost every structure on the map except the three tier-ones they took early.

15:42–50:47

Three towers, then nothing

Dire lost all three of its own tier-one towers in the first half hour — mid at 15:42 to a Radiant siege creep, top at 20:21 to Vengeful Spirit, bot at 31:10 to Necrophos — and didn’t lose a single structure after that. Every tier-two and tier-three, all four raxes, tier-four twice, and the fort itself all fell the other way. Ursa took Roshan uncontested at 35:17; Anti-Mage answered for Dire at 49:51, less than a minute before the fort came down.

Sixteen deaths reads like a disaster until you check what the other nine players were doing while it happened.
