The headline stat

We took their tier-three at 59:17. Our fort was gone by 63:46.

Snapfire finished 4/10/11. At 59:17 Dire was ahead on the map, seven Radiant structures down to five of ours, and mainstreet0’s Mirana had just knocked out their mid tier-three. Four and a half minutes later we had lost every rack, both tier-fours, and the game.

Every one of Dire’s tier-threes and all six racks fell inside a single 42-second window, 61:03 to 61:45. There was no long siege, no slow bleed. One fight went wrong at the wrong moment and the map simply inverted.

27:26–63:46

Nothing for 31 minutes, then three heroes, three times each

I didn’t die once in the first half hour, and the ten-minute stretch that followed was the best of my game: Jakiro and Shadow Fiend two and a half seconds apart at 27:26 and 27:28, Rubick at 35:04, Shadow Fiend again at 37:24. Then it stopped. Rubick killed me four seconds after that last one and again at 56:33, having already got me at 31:48; Shadow Fiend took me at 40:31, 50:02, and 54:28; Riki at 45:36, 59:30, and 61:59. Three Radiant heroes, three deaths to each, and no kills from me after the 37-minute mark. The tenth death was a mega creep, at 63:46 — the same second the fort went down.

the real story of the loss

The two Dire players who actually carried were fine. mainstreet0’s Mirana finished 24/5/14 at level 30 with first blood at 4:42 and personal credit for three Radiant towers, including that mid tier-three. Harpers’s Kunkka went 8/5/18 with 396 last hits and 72,845 hero damage, the highest of anyone in the match. On the other side, drocherkfc67’s Shadow Fiend (15/12/11) and Saviako’s Bristleback (87,254 damage taken, a five-kill streak to close) did the killing, and IMe’s Riki took three of the six racks personally. Radiant had four of five players above 55% teamfight participation; Dire had two.

16:10–63:46

Ahead on the map for an hour, then eighteen of eighteen

Dire’s early map was good: Kunkka took Radiant’s mid tier-one at 16:10, Viper the bottom one at 25:27, and by 55:10 Mirana and Kunkka had cleared all three Radiant tier-twos. Radiant, by contrast, had taken three Dire tier-ones and two tier-twos through the first fifty-two minutes, and every one of those with a credited attacker went to a creep wave, not a hero. Then 60:43: our mid tier-two. 61:03: our bottom tier-three. Ten seconds after that, the other two tier-threes and the first rax. By 61:45 all six racks were down and the creeps were mega. Both tier-fours followed at 62:52 and 63:17, and a mega creep took the fort at 63:46. Neither side went near Roshan the entire match.

Being ahead at fifty-nine minutes is not a lead. It is a question about what happens in the sixtieth.

Reconstructed from the match replay with dotabuff/manta · combat log + entity snapshot analysis. GPM/XPM and net worth weren’t reliably recoverable from this replay’s combat log and are omitted for everyone. Three early tier-one losses (one Radiant, two Dire) are logged with the destroying unit on the same team as the tower, a known parser quirk, so they’re counted as team losses but credited to nobody.
