The headline stat
We lost every tower on the map. We still won.
Ogre Magi went 10/9/26. Somewhere in the middle of that game Radiant lost all nine towers — every tier-one, every tier-two, every tier-three — and still finished with the ancient standing.
By the time the fort fell at 63:52, Radiant had also lost every rack except the top pair. Dire had it worse: both tier-fours were gone, along with their entire top and mid lanes. The whole second half of this game was two bases collapsing at the same time — Radiant just finished demolishing Dire’s last lane a few minutes before Dire could return the favor.
14:11–55:46
Techies had first blood off my team. I ended Techies three times.
Kendalo’s Techies claimed first blood at 5:17 on my teammate’s Earthshaker, then spent the rest of the match planting mines Radiant kept walking into. The real rivalry was Drow Ranger, who killed me three times directly (14:11, 17:28, 28:44) before I caught her back once at 28:54 and again at 53:48. Techies himself died to me three separate times (21:25, 50:38, 53:47) despite that early first blood. My remaining deaths were Warlock and his summoned golem (18:25, 20:21), two more of those land mines (24:29, 36:43), a tier-two tower I pushed too close to at 34:03, and Centaur Warrunner closing out the last real threat to me at 55:46.
the shape of the win
redsupcik’s Viper personally closed the game — the mid tier-three at 54:35, the bot tier-two at 63:07, and the fort itself fourteen seconds after his own team’s Spirit Breaker cleared the bot racks. He finished 23/12/15 with 13,384 tower damage, the highest of anyone in the match. On the other side, Kendalo’s Techies (first blood, 20/14/23) and 2Hollow’s Centaur Warrunner (9/7/23, 108,647 damage taken) were the two players actually keeping Dire in it as long as they were.
17:12–63:52
Two bases, both collapsing, at the same time
Radiant’s tier-ones fell in under three minutes (17:12, 18:03, 19:59), all three tier-twos were gone by 47:32, and the tier-threes and bottom racks followed through the next quarter hour — that’s every tower Radiant owned. But Dire wasn’t building a lead on the back of it: a Radiant flagbearer creep took Dire’s own tier-one mid at 20:46, and a creep wave and Mars stripped their tier-one top and tier-two mid before 33:15, when I personally took their tier-one bot. Then, starting at 54:35, Dire’s mid and top lanes went in one stretch — mid tier-three and both mid racks, top tier-three and both top racks, and both tier-fours, eight structures in under a minute. By 62:00 Dire had nothing left but their bottom lane and the fort; Radiant had nothing left but their top racks and the fort. Radiant got there first: bottom tier-two, tier-three, both racks, and the fort itself, all inside the final fifty seconds (63:07–63:52). Dire took Roshan twice along the way (45:09, 57:02); neither kill bought them the time they needed.
Losing every tower on the map usually means the game is over. This time it meant we hadn’t gotten to the interesting part yet.
